WayMaker cattery is a TICA (105171) and CFA (320767) and ACBA-FIFE registered passionate hobbyist specializing in the preservation of the unique Siamese Breed Group which includes the Oriental Shorthair, Oriental Longhair, Siamese and Balinese.  We are located just outside of the Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas   and maintain a small breeding program with no more than 4 adult breeding females at a time, and very limited litters a year. 

We believe that responsible breeding begins with purpose, thoughtful planning, and an unwavering commitment to the cats entrusted to our care.

Our focus has never been on producing large numbers of kittens, but rather on making meaningful contributions to the future of these extraordinary breeds through carefully considered breeding decisions.

Every cat, every pairing, and every kitten represents a responsibility we take seriously.

Our breeding decisions are guided by our long-term genetic and preservation goals, not by the number of families interested in kittens or requests for particular colors, patterns, or sexes.

We carefully evaluate genetic diversity, health, temperament, structure, and the physical characteristics defined by the breed standards. We strive to preserve and strengthen the qualities that make modern Oriental Shorthairs and Siamese so exceptional while maintaining the health, soundness, and wonderful personalities that make them such beloved companions.

We actively participate in cat shows, where our cats are evaluated against established breed standards. Showing provides valuable opportunities to assess our breeding program, learn from experienced judges, and make informed decisions about future generations.

We will never breed our cats simply to fulfill a waiting list or meet outside expectations. Our cats’ well-being and our commitment to responsible preservation breeding will always come first.

 We do not maintain a traditional open waiting list or accept early reservations for kittens. Instead, we allow each litter the time it needs to grow, develop, and receive our full attention before considering placements.

Individual kitten availability is not determined or discussed until kittens reach approximately 12 weeks of age. This allows us to carefully evaluate each kitten’s health, development, temperament, and physical characteristics before making decisions about which kittens may remain in our breeding program, which may be suitable for showing, and which will thrive in carefully selected companion homes.

We do not promise particular colors, sexes, or individual kittens in advance. Our breeding plans and the kittens produced are ultimately determined by nature, and we believe every kitten deserves to be evaluated as an individual.

By removing the pressure of early reservations, we can make decisions based entirely on what is best for our cats, our kittens, and the future of our program.

When Do We Accept Applications and Deposits?

Once kittens reach approximately 12 weeks of age, and we have determined which kittens may be considered for placement, we may begin accepting inquiries, questionnaires, and applications from prospective families. We do not accept deposits on individual kittens before this age. A deposit may be accepted only after a kitten has been evaluated, an appropriate home has been selected, and both parties have agreed to proceed with the placement. A kitten being photographed or shared on our website or social media does not mean that kitten is available. We love sharing our cats and kittens as they grow, but we ask that families respect our placement timeline and refrain from requesting availability information or submitting applications before we announce that we are accepting inquiries.

How We Select Our Kitten Families

Finding the right home for each kitten is one of our most important responsibilities. Our kittens are raised in our home as part of our family, receiving daily attention, affection, handling, and socialization. We become deeply invested in their personalities and well-being, and we want that same level of love and commitment to continue throughout their lives.

Families who already own WayMaker cats receive first consideration for future kitten placements.

After considering our existing WayMaker families and any previously established commitments, we carefully evaluate new prospective homes. Our placement decisions are not based simply on who contacts us first. We consider the individual kitten’s temperament and needs alongside each family’s lifestyle, experience, expectations, and ability to provide an enriching, loving, lifelong home. Oriental Shorthairs and Siamese are exceptionally social, intelligent, active, affectionate, and often very vocal cats. They thrive on companionship and interaction and are not always well suited to homes where they will spend extended periods alone without appropriate companionship. We want our families to genuinely appreciate these unique characteristics and understand the commitment involved in sharing their lives with these remarkable cats.

Our goal is never simply to find a home for a kitten. It is to find the right home for that kitten.

We reserve the right to decline a placement whenever we believe a different home would better meet a kitten’s individual needs.

When Do Our Kittens Go Home?

Our kittens remain at WayMaker until approximately 15–16 weeks of age, and never before they are developmentally ready and have received appropriate veterinary clearance. We believe these additional weeks with their mother, littermates, and our family provide valuable opportunities for continued physical development, socialization, confidence building, and learning. Before leaving WayMaker, our kittens receive:

• Age-appropriate veterinary-administered vaccinations, including rabies
• Multiple veterinary examinations throughout their development
• Individual health and veterinary records
• Daily handling, enrichment, and socialization in our home
• Exposure to normal household activities, sounds, and experiences
• Registration documentation in accordance with our placement agreement
• A written placement contract and health guarantee

Our kittens also become familiar with carriers, car rides, and veterinary visits as part of their early experiences. We want each kitten to leave WayMaker healthy, confident, well-socialized, and prepared for a successful transition into its new family. Placement dates are always subject to the individual kitten’s health, development, and veterinary recommendations.

Our Commitment Does Not End at Placement

When you welcome a WayMaker kitten into your family, our relationship does not end when that kitten goes home. We genuinely value the families who share their lives with our cats and love receiving updates, photographs, and stories as our kittens grow into adulthood. We remain available to support our kitten families with questions about transitioning, nutrition, behavior, introductions, and general care throughout their cats’ lives. Maintaining these relationships is an important part of our program. It allows us to follow the long-term development and well-being of the cats we produce while building a wonderful community of people who share our love for breed. We consider our existing WayMaker families an extension of our own, and supporting them will always be a priority.

Our philosophy is simple. We believe every breeding should have a purpose, every kitten deserves individual attention, and every placement should be made with careful consideration.

We will always prioritize the health, temperament, genetic diversity, and preservation of the Oriental and Siamese breeds over producing kittens to meet demand. We believe in responsible decisions, thoughtful placements, and lifelong relationships with the families who love our cats.

At WayMaker, our cats come first. Always.

WayMaker kittens are $3500 and are placed into companion and potential show homes, not intended for breeding* (updated 10/12/2026). This does not include transport. We DO NOT ship our cats cargo but do allow in person pickup and flying in cabin. DFW (Dallas Fort Worth, TX) is our nearest airport. We also will on occasion deliver our kittens in person or use a trusted pet nanny for transport. 

*We may occasionally place a kitten to a home interested in breeding; however, this is done on an approved case-by-case basis and terms/price are customized. The plans and goals of the new home must be transparently communicated, and we will work in partnership only. At no time will we allow one of our cats to go into a home for breeding without our continued involvement.
